On The Run, Emily’s Marathon Effort

Over 39,000 runners lined up for the start of the Virgin London Marathon on Sunday 24th April. Among the professional athletes, fun runners and the London Fire Brigade team was Alex Picot Trust’s own Emily McLaughlin.

Emily completed the course in 4 hours, 31 mins and 50 secs, an improved time from her first London marathon in 2015 when she finished in 5 hours and 16 secs.

Emily’s performance is even more impressive considering her training schedule was interrupted with an injured knee. At the starting line Emily had worries that, due to not having as much preparation time as original planned, there was a chance that she wouldn’t make the finishing line. To have finished and beaten her previous time was an outstanding achievement.

Applying for both the London and New York Marathons in 2017 Emily clearly has the running bug!
