A combined effort across our team throughout the month of November, resulted in a total of 12,295,816 steps recorded. This figure was then converted into ££££s and a meaningful donation for this important local charity.
For the past 6 years we have encouraged our staff to get active and pull together as a team to go the extra mile in an annual staff challenge. With just enough competitive spirit among us, the results are always very impressive and this year we are really pleased with the outcome.
Despite particularly poor weather conditions during November and the days gradually getting shorter, everyone made the effort to take the stairs instead of the lift, walk a bit further and choose two legs over 4 wheels for their daily commute.
There were some individuals who really excelled and logged around 100,000 steps each week, congratulations to all of our team who made every step count.
One of the key recommendations to avoid stroke is to keep active and by organising the steps challenge we aim to raise funds while increasing awareness of stroke among our staff and wider audiences. In the process we are also promoting the important work this charity does within the Jersey community.
