CORE VALUES provide the framework of internal beliefs, ethics and guiding morals upon which a business shapes its purpose and direction. We believe a successful Employer is one with strong values that are reflective of the environment and demonstrated in all areas of the business.

At Alex Picot Trust, our values are embedded in our culture.  Our shared values help us to create a culture of inclusivity and belonging, instil a sense of unity across our team, and cultivate meaningful and successful leadership.

CORE VALUES in turn support our business strategy and company objective to be the ‘leading independent, private client focussed Trust Company in Jersey’.

We often reflect on the traditional values upon which Alex Picot Trust has been built over its 137-year heritage, and which we uphold today. Broadly, when we talk about traditional values we refer to two areas; to maintain a family-focussed culture and to prioritise our clients.

To bring our VALUE proposition up to date, and align it with the ethos promoted at Alex Picot Trust in 2023, we undertook a project to identify what our core values are and how these can transcend into our working practices.

Mutual Respect

Longevity – As the longest established trust business in Jersey, we have a responsibility to secure our future for future generations of people and clients.  WE RESPECT the commitment of our predecessors and act professionally both internally and externally at all times.

Always Learning

Always Learning – WE FOSTER a culture of learning through promoting knowledge-share, coaching, and supporting professional development and qualifications.  We accept that errors happen and are essential in supporting a learning culture. Our learning opportunities enable our people to enjoy genuine career development. We listen to our people’s training needs and strive to put support in place to assist. In-house training sessions enable us to share our knowledge.

Speak Up

Speak Up – WE ENCOURAGE feedback and questions to ensure that we act diligently in our duties and that colleagues feel their opinions and suggestions are valued.  This helps to support our culture of collaboration.


Togetherness – We support our colleagues as ONE TEAM.  We are stronger as a collective than as a collection of individuals.  Working together and helping each other is the foundation of our core values. Togetherness extends beyond the office with a number of inclusive social events throughout the year.
